Wright and Ruth Allen. But both of those dates are in conflict with the birth date of her sister Lenora B. Wright, shown in her conventional birth record as born on Mar 17 1897 in Doddridge County, daughter of William M. & Ruth M. Wright. In the 1910 Census, Ila Wright, age 10, was residing in Enterprise with Jesse and Taylor Martin (brothers) and Taylor's wife Mary, her relationship to any of them not stated. Note (7) 1910 Census, Harrison Co, WV (Clay District), enumerated on Apr 25 1910 on Bridge Street in West Enterprise: Taylor Martin, 61, b. Va, no occupation, married 8 yrs (1st marriage); wife Mary E, 50, b. WVa, married 8 yrs (2nd marriage), mother of 3 children (2 still living); Ila Wright, 13, b. WVa; brother Jesse Martin, 76, b. Va, widowed, no occupation. NOTE: The relationship of Ila Wright to the other household members was not indicated. Note (8) Birth date given in Social Security records as Mar 17 1900 at Indian Run, Tyler County. Her birth record, a delayed entry filed on Nov 16 1955 by her brother-in-law W. F. Starkey, states her birth date as Mar 17 1900 in Tyler County at Eagles Mills, which is actually in Doddridge County on the Tyler County line. But the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census records consistently show her birth as about 1899, and her 1942 marriage record states her birth date as Mar 17 1899 in Tyler County. However, there is a conventional birth record on file in Doddridge County for Lenora B. Wright, born Mar 17 1897, daughter of William M. & Ruth M. Wright, for whom there is no further record by that name. Given the coincidente of the same month/day of birth and the fact that Lenora is otherwise not accouted for, it would appear perhaps that Blanch's birth name was Lenora B. Wright and that she was actually born on Mar 17 1897. But other records do not support that. Note (9) Social Security records and his birth record (a delayed entry filed on Feb 6 1943 by his sister Ala Wright Starkey) state his birth date as Nov 6 1900. But that date is in conflict with his older sister. The 1900 Census shows his mother with a son, Ai Wright, born Nov 1899, for whom no other record has been found. It is likely that Ai and Robert are one and the same, with Ai becoming known as Robert and his birth date misstated by one year when entered into the record.
