Hand on B & O Railroad, died Feb 15 1918 at Bridgeport, Harrison Co WV, age 48y 7m 5d.
Burial at Bridgeport. Informant: Lucinda Hart, Bridgeport. There is a second death
certificate, No. 2522, which corresponds to the one just described, but with much less
detail.

1873, dau of Andrew J. (sic) & Emaline Hart. The birth record is in ledger form and is a
typed transcription of the original. On the following line in the entry for her twin
brother, identified as Joseph W. Hart. The death record of Mary Melinda Hart Samples
shows her birth date as Mar 30 1872, born at Joy. BR Bk 1, p. 61.

Emaline Hart. The middle initial is believed to have been a clerical error. Death record
also reports birth date as Mar 30 1873, but incorrectly states birthplace as Pennsboro,
Ritchie Co, WV, and identifies his parents as Andrew M. [sic] Hart and (blank) Britton
(source: Audra F. Hart of same address as the deceased). BR Bk 1, p. 61.

Records (Book 3, p. 230), on Sep 7 1922, a W. U. Hart was appointed administrator of the
estate of Joseph Hart. This was obviously a different Joseph Hart.

believed to be a clerical error. Parents identified as "Anda N. & Emeline Hart.", BR Bk
1, p. 95.

both showing Lena L. Hart born to Andrew & Emaline Hart. Birth Record Book 1, page 109,
indicates a birth date of Aug 3 1880, while BR Bk 1, p. 115, shows a birth date of Sep 3
1881. Both entries are typewritten ledger entries transcribed from the original
handwritten records. Since an Aug 1880 birth date is given in the 1900 Census, the Sep
1881 entry is presumed to be a clerical error.

Event Notes
Note (1) Age 64y 7m 18d at death would put birth date at Nov 6 1846. Also, age given
at marriage in Aug 1867 was 20, and in Aug 1888 was 41, both of which would
support a birth date in Nov 1846. Other sources have given his birth date
ranging from ca 1844 to ca 1849, to include the 1900 Census listing his
birthdate as Sep 1847, and a family information survey completed by son John W.
Hart in 1931 which reported the birth of Andew N. Nutter as Sep 6 1848 in
Harrison Co. His birth place was reported in his marriage record as Doddridge
Co, but Harrison Co is considered more likely.
Note (2) A family information survey completed by son John W. Hart in 1931 identified
his mother as Miss Emaline Britton, born Mar 14 1850, died May 18 1890. Those
dates are at variance with information contained in her marriage and death
records.
