Birthplace given in death record as Tyler County, but marriage record and census records indicate Pennsylvania. Note (2) Although her death record indicates that she died at West Union Star Route, West Union District, Doddridge County, her obituary states that she "died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jasper Scott, of Wilbur." Wilbur is in Tyler County, near the county line with Doddridge. Her death record incorrectly states her birthplace as Tyler County rather than Greene Co Pa., and also incorrectly identifies her father as Jacob Dye rather than Samuel Dye. Informant for her death record was her grandson Dewey Gail Scott. Note (3) In household of grandparents George F. & Elizabeth (Lantz) Cumberledge. Note (4) Birthplace given in death record as Greene County, Pennsylvania. But census records indicate Virginia/West Virginia. Although his marriage record states his birthplace as Tyler County, it is more likely that he was born in Monongalia County, where he was with his family in the 1860 Census. In that census, in which he was the youngest family member, his birthplace was given as Virginia, while all others' were Pennsylvania.
