Event Notes Note (1) Minnie Kendall Lowther (HRC, p. 603) reports his death as 1865 near Weston in Lewis County, but more official sources state Feb 13 1862 in West Union, Doddridge County. The death date on his now-weathered grave marker also appears to be Feb 13 1862. His will, dated July 8 1860, was submitted for probate at the February 1862 term of the Doddridge County Court. Note (2) In 1840, he was enumerated as the only member of the household. Note (3) Birthplace given as Lewis County in her marriage record with Lewis Maxwell in Ritchie County, but as Ritchie County in her marriage record with John O. Byrne in Doddridge County. The latter is considered more likely. Birth date reported in "Tichenor Families in America," p. 152, as Apr 29 1840, but date on headstone is 1838.
