Notes:

Ronald W. Carder was a graduate of Salem High School and a 1969 graduate of Salem College. He was an employee of Barnes & Brass Company in Clarksburg, where he was a Master Electrician, working on industrial commercial electrical jobs until his retirement in 1991. Ronald was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 596 for 20 years. Ronald was President of Salem Park Board for 4 years and Treasurer for 8 years. During those years, he helped with the annual "Spring In Bloom Dance" which was a yearly dance to benefit the park.

He was a member of Salem City Council from 1993-1999, serving as Vice Mayor for a portion of that time. He, again, served on Salem City Council from 2001-2003. He was a member of the Water Pollution Control Project in 1995 and the Salem Sanitary Board and Zoning Appeals Board in 2005. During the summer, he enjoyed being a volunteer greeter at the Salem Depot. He helped with the renovation of the Salem caboose. In 2008, Ronald was chosen as Citizen of the Year by the Salem Chamber of Commerce.

From 2003 through 2006, he was Project Manager on a Charitable Fund to restore the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Salem. He was also co-chairman of the Salem Improvement Committee. Ronald was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and served on the Parsonage Committee and the Building Committee.
