Notes |
- William Alwyn Ashburn, along with his wife Beulah, transcribed the lengthy, detailed handwritten diary of his great-uncle Flavius Josephus Ashburn (1832-1912) of Doddridge County. The diary, which was meticulously maintained from 1853 to 1867, provides a detailed glimpse into daily life of that time. The original diary and a transcript of it are on file at the West Virginia State Archives Library.
