- Lexie Cumberledge Buskirk was a charter member of the Friendship Temple II Pythion Sisters of Anchorage and served as past most excellent chief. She then joined the Nomads of Parkersburg, W.Va. She also belonged to the Anchorage Rock and Mineral Club, the retired Federal Employees Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Buskirk was an avid bowler. She had a permanent membership in the Anchorage Women's Bowling Association. She was inducted into the Anchorage Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame during the 1978-79 season. She belonged to the Anchorage 500 Club, the State 500 Club and the National 500 Club. Mrs. Buskirk also had a WIBC Championship Tournament lifetime pass. She bowled on the Big Ten League for many years, plus many other leagues. Mrs. Buskirk participated in 32 WIBC National Championship Tournaments. Her last national tournament was in 2001 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when she was 92. She was preceded in death by her infant twin sons and second husband, Herman Buskirk. [1]
