      Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Oct 24 1918, in its entirety:
      "H. W. Thomas, the well-known carpenter and builder of Sunnyside, is building an addition to Davy Haught's house in East End of town."
      (NOTE: Hezekiah Wesley Thomas was David M. Haught's son-in-law, the husband of his daughter Rosie.)

      It is believed that the location of David M. Haught's farm near Oxford was on Arnolds Creek Road just off of Oxford Road, at approximately GPS coordinates 39.221283, -80.835573. In a deed dated 9 July 1912, widower David M. Haught conveyed the property to his children in consideration of the sume of $2,370.88. The property was described as being "situate on Fred's Run, a branch of South Fork of Hughes River, in South West District, Doddridge County, West Virginia..."

      Name listed as David B. Haught, the middle initial being an obvious error. His birthplace was given as Doddridge Co, and death place as Greene Co, PA, but it is certain that those should be reversed. Occupation given as "retired farmer," and marital status as widowed. Parents identified as Peter Haught (b. in Pennsylvania) and Basheba Musgrave (b. in West Virginia). Handwritten entry gives date of birth as 5/14/1843, but age at death (79y, 6m, 25d) puts birth at 5/14/1848, which coincides with other sources. Cause of death listed as pulmonary tuberculosis.
