- Lawyer, State Senator. He was a member of the West Virginia State Senate from 1923 to 1927. He was also a United States Representative from West Virginia from 1933 to 1951. He served the 15th District. John was born in Glenville, Gilmer County, West Virginia. He was admitted to the bar in 1897. On September 7, 1926 he married Maude Elizabeth Frazier, who would succeed him as U.S. Representative after winning a special election to replace him after his death and served until 1965. She in turn was succeeded by their son, James Kee, who served until 1973.
