Note (2) Military records show that Isaac N. Czigans enlisted in Co H, 4th W.Va. Cavalry, on 1 Aug 1863 in West Union. He mustered-in at Parkersburg on 29 Aug 1863 as a Ptivate, age 18. Mustered-out 8 Mar 1864 from General Hospital in Grafton. On 5 Sep 1864 in Clarksburg, he enlisted as a Private in Co C, 6th W.Va. Inf. 5 Sept 1864. He mustered-in on 8 Sep 1864 in Wheeling. The Mar/Apr 1865 muster roll showed him absent without leave since 19 Apr 1865. Mustered-out on 10 Jun 1865 in Wheeling and was docked one month's pay. Note (3) Although the death is recorded in Doddridge County, obituary specifies location as being "at her home near Auburn," which is located in Ritchie County near the Doddridge County line. Note (4) Birth date given in death record as Feb 18 1876. But the 1900 Census shows it as Feb 1877, and her birth record (in which she is listed as S. L. Czigans) states Feb 18 1877. She was age 3 in the 1880 Census.
