Event Notes Note (1) Although death records at the Upshur County courthouse indicate that he died at Buckhannon in Upshur Co, WV, his death certificate on file at the West Virginia Dept of Health's Division of Vital Statistics show that the place of death was at Exchange in the Otter District of Braxton County. His obituary specifies that he died "at his home on Cedar Creek, near Exchange," in Braxton County. Note (2) Cedar Creek Note (3) in household with son Arnold Marsh Gaston Note (4) But immediate family, in W. Guy Tetrick survey, reports birth date as Mar 22 1882, and age at death (11y 4m 7d) reported in death record would also put birth at Mar 22 1882. Note (5) Obituary states age as 75, born Mar 23 1887, but she was actually 78, as her birth record shows that she was born on Mar 23 1884, the same date reported for her by sister Minnie in a W. Guy Tetrick family information survey completed in 1931. Note (6) Obituary of Minnie Gaston Leeson states she was born Oct 24 1895 and died Oct 5 1979 at age 83, which is mathematically correct. But both her birth record and SSDI give her birth as Oct 24 1894, as does her marriage record and the Guy Tetrick family information sheet she filled out herself in 1931. Her obituary also incorrectly identifies her parents as Eliza (should be Eli) Gaston and Nancy (should be Cassa) Hart.
