Event Notes
Note (1) Birth date given in Social Security records as Mar 17 1900 at Indian Run,
Tyler County. Her birth record, a delayed entry filed on Nov 16 1955 by her
brother-in-law W. F. Starkey, states her birth date as Mar 17 1900 in Tyler
County at Eagles Mills, which is actually in Doddridge County on the Tyler
County line. But the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census records consistently show her
birth as about 1899, and her 1942 marriage record states her birth date as Mar
17 1899 in Tyler County.  However, there is a conventional birth record on file
in Doddridge County for Lenora B. Wright, born Mar 17 1897, daughter of William
M. & Ruth M. Wright, for whom there is no further record by that name.  Given
the coincidente of the same month/day of birth and the fact that Lenora is
otherwise not accouted for, it would appear perhaps that Blanch's birth name was
Lenora B. Wright and that she was actually born on Mar 17 1897.  But other
records do not support that.
