But Wes Cochran's "Harrison County WV Marriages 1785-1894," p. 51, shows it as Feb 14 1822, noting that the groom's name could be read as either Sears or Sayre. Note (4) In the 1845 Taxable Property List, Doddridge County, (W)VA, dated 19 August 1845, Mary Sayre was listed as the head of household. She was taxed on two horses and one wooden clock, as well as one male in the household over the age of 16. Mary Sayre subsequently appeared as head of household in the 1850 Census of Doddridge County.
