Age 44 in 1850 Census puts birth in about 1806. Death date given in his military headstone application, filed in 1928 by his great-grandson Freddie Wade Elefritz, as Jan 13 1888, an apparent error. At the time of his military enlistment on Jul 28 1862, he understated his age as 44, birthplace Hampshire County.), DR p. 15, Line 172 : http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=5048536&Type=Death.
