Smith, white male, 54, born in Doddridge Co, married, farmer; died May 3 1889 at Flint Run, cause of death Bright's disease of kidneys, burial at Flint Run. Reported filed by undertaker Joseph Cheuvront on Jul 4 1889. NOTE: Of the two entries, the first appears to be the more credible. It is noted that the first report, with death date corresponding to the headstone date, was filed by the attending physician immediately after the death and burial, while the second was filed by the undertaker two months later. Regarding the locations mentioned, Cloverdale and Alpha were communities that have since been encompassed by the community of Big Flint, located along Flint Run. There are two cemeteries at Big Flint in close proximity to each other, the Doak Cemetery and the Keys Cemetery. Ramage's "Cemeteries of Doddridge County, Vol. I," p. 64, reports that John H.
