Cupp) in this census is inconsistent with the June 1879 death date in Doddridge County death records. The handwritten alphabetized listing of deaths is apparently in error.)

Weekly, consort. (NOTE: The validity of this death record is doubtful, since Maggie Weekly, age 24, appeared in the 1880 Census as the wife of Reason Weekly. Basis for her parent, presumably her father, being identified in this death record as H. S. Ash is not clear. Her 1877 marriage record with Reason Weekly identifies her as Margarett A. Cupp, 21, b. Augusta Co Va, res. Doddridge Co, dau of Samuel J. & Amanda J. Cupp. It is noted that this death record is an alphabetized handwritten ledger, rather than an ongoing log of deaths entered as they occurred. It appears that an error was made in the transcription process.)
