- Wife's obituary gives Worthy Eugene Adams' death as occurring in 1963, but that is incorrect. His obituary (in the West Union Herald of Thursday, October 24, 1957) states that he was born on Aug 24 1889 and died on Monday at his home in Parkersburg at age 68. Son Worthy's obituary states that his father died in 1957.

Mary Ellen Haught and Worthy Eugene Adams were double cousins, in that they were third cousins (both were great-great-grandchildren of John Gaston Jr. (b. 1752 in NJ)) and also fifth cousins (both were g-g-g-g-grandchildren of John Smith (b. 1699)).
