- During his tenure at CNG, Richard worked as an equipment operator, pipe liner, and on drilling rigs. After retirement from Consolidated, Richard founded Ripper Oil & Gas Company that he owned and operated. He serviced oil and gas wells and had a contract laying gas lines for many years. While working for the gas company, Richard also owned and operated the McCullough Meat Shop of Greenwood, WV for 30-plus years. Richard had a passion for farming and operated McCullough Farms and would sell straw by tractor trailer loads and he loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Friendship Lodge #56 of West Union, WV where he was awarded his 50-year pin and was also a member of the Nemesis Shrine.
