      NOTE: This birth record is a typewritten ledger transcribed from the original handwritten records. In at least this case, the birth date was entered incorrectly, as shown by the following court document information:
      Doddridge County Court Case No. 5471, Book 7, Page 76, states that "Martha E. Yerkey was delivered of a female bastard December 31, 1889," in connection with which the Court found U. G. Sherwood guilty of a charge of bastardy on July 29 1890.
