- News item, "West Union Record," Thursday, October 21 1915, in its entirety:
LITTLE FOUR YEAR OLD GIRL IS VERY PAINFULLY BURNED
Alpha Hutson, the four year old daughter of County Clerk and Mrs. Hiram Hutson, is recovering from some very painful but not serious burns, which she received Sunday morning a week ago.
The little girl got out of bed early, and as it was a cold morning, she ran to a small heating stove. Her night dress caught fire, and she was badly burned on both legs and the right brest. While her injuries were quite painful, they are not serious, and it is believed that she will be completely recovered within a short time.
