      The birth records in Doddridge Co (Delay Entry Book 1, p. 122-K) show his birth as Nov 16 1878 at Big Flint, also showing him as his mother's 8th child. This birth date also conforms to that on his headstone. But a handwritten entry in Ritchie County Birth Records (p. 122) shows his birth as Dec 16 1878 in Grant District, Ritchie County.
