    • William Porter Crook's death record states the burial location as West Union, without specifying a cemetery. But it is nearly certain that his burial was in Redemption Cemetery, which is located 15 miles south of West Union and is the confirmed burial place of his parents before him, his wife two years after, and some of his children. Cemetery readings have not found a headstone for him or his wife. A notation in Donald E. Ramage's "Doddridge County Cemeteries, Volume I" states "Redemption Hill Cemetery contains a large number of graves without tombstones." Ramage's description of the cemetery also states that "Land for the church was granted to the Redemption Hill Baptist Church by William and Marcella Crook," parents of William Porter Crook.
