- Pastor William P. Snider served as chairman of the West Virginia Baptist Convention's Long Range Planning Committee, the Board of Camps and Conferences, the Budget Committee, the Local Church Commission, and as a Trustee of Alderson-Broaddus College. While working on the State Staff of the West Virginia Baptist Convention, he initiated a successful continuing education program for Baptist ministers in West Virginia that served as a national model for bi-vocational entrance training programs throughout the ABC/USA. He was a member of the Executive Board and Executive Committee. In addition, he served on SCODS, President of the Wood County Ministerial Alliance, and Director and Founder of Mid-High Youth Camp at Cowan. Bill was a Master Mason and member of St. Mary's Lodge 41. He was a speaker and workshop leader in great demand, leading marital enrichment workshops, career assessment seminars, and seminars on aging, stress management, and grieving. He was a chaplain at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and directed a seminar that helped patients cope with cancer. As a result of these many contributions, in May 1995 Bill was awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Divinity from Alderson-Broaddus College.
