  Notes	Willis and Juliet Richards Nutter, of pioneer families, settled on land on Hughes River, Southwest District, in present-day Doddridge Co, WV, where Willis served as Justice of the Peace for 20 years. After his death in 1860, the farm passed out of the family. Willis was a direct descendant of Thomas Nutter (d. 1732), Captain in the Revolutionary War, who built Fort Nutter on his land, now Nutter Fort, Harrison Co, WV. His gravesite is marked by a government historical marker.
