    Notes 
    • She was active as a newspaper reporter for the Clarksburg Exponent, West Union Record, West Union Herald, and contributed to the Associated Press and United Press International until after her 78th birthday. She also worked for the Gallup Poll. For ten years, she donated her services to the Red Cross, serving as chairman of Doddridge County and later as home service chairman. Much of this was during World War II. She also compiled the history of Doddridge County for the local newspapers. [1]
