- Kester L. Nichols, 70, of Cairo, passed away April 30, 2008, at his residence.
He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late Clyde R. Nichols and Alice I. (Midcaff) Nichols. Kester retired from RJF International, formerly B.F. Goodrich, after 27 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, especially with his family having cookouts and relaxing at the family farm.
He is survived by three daughters, Petite Pete Shultz of Harrisville, Tamara Tammy Longfellow of Harrisville and Danella Danny Ross of Cairo; three sisters, Sharon Hubert of Harrisville, Carolyn Pierson of Alliance, Ohio, and Shirley Jonas of Cairo; brother, John Paul Nichols of Ky.; and three grandchildren, Jasmin Ross, Ian Ross and Brady Shultz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita (Chapman) Nichols, in 2002.
Following his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. His cremated remains will be scattered on the family farm in Ritchie County at a later date.
A luncheon and time of fellowship for family and friends will be at 12:30 p.m. May 17, 2008, at the Community Building in Cairo.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
