- Janice was an excellent musician and played the piano, organ, and sang. She enjoyed doing volunteer music for festivals, family functions, reunions, weddings, and funerals. Her favorite volunteer work was being a hostess at Texas Roadhouse where she loved making kids happy and getting to talk with so many people. Janice was a proud cancer survivor, helped orchestrate the first Relay for Life in the area, and a Life Member of the United Hospital Center Auxiliary. In 1994 Janice was named Progressive Woman of the Year and then in 1999 named Harrison County Citizen of the Year, two well deserved awards.
