- CPT Doit Koppler was a combat veteran, having proudly served his country as a reconnaissance pilot flying OV-1 Mohawks during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star and several other awards and commendations. Following his military retirement, Doit served as a commercial helicopter pilot and instructor, long-haul truck driver and instructor, farmer, and engaged in numerous entrepreneurial pursuits.
He was an ordained minister and avid student of The Bible having an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He volunteered as a minister at the North Central Regional Jail and was active with Christian Motorcyclist Association. His vision for sharing the love and redemption of Jesus Christ was evident to all. In connection with this vision, he founded the JB Hunt Lighthouse Team, which ministers to long-haul truckers, and created various tools for use in ministry including the CMA Salvation Bracelet. He attended Blandville Church and New Life Ministries of Ellenboro.
His hobbies included reading, technology and private aviation having flown various experimental aircraft. His was pursuing his aviation passion when the Lord called him to heaven. [2]
