      Local news item, "West Union Record," Thursday, October 7 1915, in its entirety:
      "W. A. Metcalf has the contract to build two houses near the town end of the Wabash bridge for Frank Ramsey. The foundation is ready for one of them."

      William A. Metcalf and his family moved to Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio sometime before September 1918, when he registered for the World War I draft. He gave his occupation at that time as a self-employed farmer.
