Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Dec 9 1915, in its entirety: "John E. Waldo of Leeson Run was in the city Monday on business. The largest oil well in the Leeson Run field has recently been struck on Mr. Waldo's farm. He is one of our best citizens, and we congratulate him on his good fortune.
