    Notes 
    • Walter Ker and his wife Margaret, with other Scotch nonconformists, were deprived of his property and exiled under perpetual banishment upon the accession of James II in 1685. They came to New Jersey and settled at Freehold, Monmouth County. They were buried on a hilly point of ground about one-half mile east of the present Tennent church building. [1, 2]
