She had also worked for Alkire Tire in Clarksburg as a secretary and was also employed by the Beckley Register newspaper. A scholarship fund in the memory of Katherine Ann Sutton Ash, the KASA Memorial Scholarship, was established for the benefit of Doddridge County High School students starting in Spring 2006. [1, 4]
