    • Hanna, in "Ohio Valley Genealogies," p. 41, states that this James Gaston, b. Apr 15 1747, had a son Stephen and several daughters, and that they moved to Ohio in about 1801-02. Burgess, in "Gaston Genealogy," p. 119, reports the same children as Hanna. Neither makes mention of James' wife. "Chester County Heritage History," p. 196, states that this James Gaston married Margaret, that they had a son Stephen and a number of daughters, and that they moved first to Tennessee and later to Indiana Territory. Subsequent research by others, as reported on the LDS familysearch.org website, has revealed the family information found here.
