  Notes	Said to be a descendant of John Beecher of England, who died in New Haven in 1637 or 1638. Laban Smith Beecher was a ship-carver at Boston 1826, carved the figurehead of Jackson for frigate "Constitution," removed to Roxbury, MA, 1834, one of the founders of the Eliot Church in that place, city official, etc, etc, was engaged in lumber business in Wisconsin.
