Identified as James Vogeding, 24, b. Doddridge Co, res. Richwood WV; and Winifred Squires, 18, b. & res. in Doddridge Co. Married Nov 29 1938 in Richwood. (Note: Although the ceremony was held in Nicholas County, the marriage license was issued and filed in Doddridge County, residence of the bride. An announcement of the wedding, appearing in the Dec 15 1938 issue of the West Union Herald, reported the wedding date as Nov 27 1938. The article in its entirety: "Mr. & Mrs. Mead Squires, of Oxford, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Winifred, to James Vogeding, son of Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Vogeding, of Clarksburg. The marriage took place November 27, 1938, at Richwood, W. Va. The groom graduated from the Doddridge County high school and is employed by the C&P Telephonce Co. The bride is a senior in Doddridge County high school." November 29th that year was on a Tuesday, while the 27th was on a Sunday; it is unclear where the error lies.)
