    • "John Nutter, with his brothers Isaac, Levi, Thomas and William, came to Ritchie County VA (WV) about 1813 and squatted near the mouth of Addis Run on land owned by a Mr. Addis. This land was sold to William McKinley, who dispossessed the Nutters in 1818. John and Mary then moved to the West Fork of the Little Kanawha River in present day Calhoun County WV." [1]

      Don Norman's "Descendants of Christopher Nutter" reports marriage between John Nutter and Mary Mounts (sic) on May 10 1803. But the original handwritten marriage record appears to show date as June 2 1803, with her name spelled Mount.
