- He began his career in housing construction and ministry at an early age, receiving training from Duke University in North Carolina, and a Methodist Seminary in Washington, DC. He served as pastor of the Chestnut Grove, Pullman Charge, Meadow Bridge, Tallmansville, College Street, Glenville, Knottsville, Newlon, Shinnston, Hilltop, Troy, Reader, Meadowview, South Buckhannon Mission, and Gould churches. He retired from the Methodist Conference in June 1986, but he remained active in the ministry and attended the Faith Tabernacle Church.
