    • In the 1950s and early 1960s, he was a manager for the Dillon's store on East Central. He later opened and managed the Dillon's in Eastgate Mall. From there he pursued his dream and opened his own grocery store: Jerry's IGA, in Wellington. When the store closed, he began working at Boeing Computer Services, retiring in 1992. During the 1960s and early 1970s, he and his wife were the youth directors at Broadway Christian Church.
