- Rev. Beck received his B.A. Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1951 and his Master of Divinity Degree from Wesley Ohio Seminary in 1956. He was licensed as a local preacher in 1940 and after returning home from war he served as a student local pastor in the West Virginia Conference from 1945-1951. He was admitted on trial in 1951, was ordained Deacon in 1954 and Elder in 1956. From 1953 to 1956 he served a pastoral appointment in the Baltimore Conference. After completing seminary, he returned to WV and served two appointments from 1956-1959. He was transferred to the North East Ohio Conference on June 1, 1959. After becoming a member of that Conference, he served the following appointments; Wellsville First, Uhrichsville First, Lisbon-Elkton, Lisbon First, and Leetionia-Washingtonville. Rev. Beck retired in 1983 and with his wife and daughter moved to Lakeside, OH. While living there, he served as pastor of Victory United Methodist from 1987 to 1992. In 1992 the Becks moved to Belington, WV where he served as interim pastor in several parishes, and was ask to preach in several different churches thru out north central West Virginia especially in Belington and surrounding areas.
