Davis's Celebrate 20th Anniversay.
Helen "Dancing Moon Woman" Davis and James E. "Gray Wolf" Davis renewed their wedding vows in a traditional Native American ceremony in honor of Helen's mother, the late Shirley Forester Ash, who was a descendent of the Cherokee. The ceremony was held Jun 24, 2006 in the Sacred Circle at the meeting ground of the Middle Island Creek People. Mr. & Mrs. Davis are members of the tribe. The wedding ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Marlena "Little Dove" Ponceroff, the tribal spiritual leader. Attending the bride and groom were Clan Mother Cathy "Morning Star" Ash, sister-in-law of the bride, and Chief Wally "White Elk" Ash, brother of the bride. The ceremony was followed by a traditional give-away, a feast, drumming and dancing, which were enjoyed by all who attended.
