    • Newspaper article:
      "The body of Wilford L. Cogar, 43 [sic], of Greenwood, who was killed by a train at Sherwood crossing sometime Sunday night, 2 Aug 1948, was discovered at six o'clock Monday morning by an engineer on train No. 30. The trainman notified authorities, who went to the scene. Cogar was thought to have died five hours earlier. No inquest was necessary. An employee of the B&O railroad, Cogar was believed to have been on his way home, which was on a bank above the track. Papers on his person revealed that he had rejoined the Navy on Wednesday of the preceding week. He had served in the Navy during World War II."
