| Notes |
- Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Nov 19 1914, in its entirety:
"RUNAWAY - An exciting runaway occurred Wednesday afternoon when a team of horses tried to leave town without their owner. Ottie Kinney was the hero of the hour, as he managed to catch the off horse by the bridle and swung them in a circle. It looked for a while as though they would shake him off. He is little but mighty."
