      TWO VICTIMS OF DIPHTHERIA
      "Diphtheria has claimed two more victims. This time it is in the home of Dean Kinney, who lives a little way below town, West Union, Doddridge County, that the monster has entered. On last Thursday night a little boy of five, and again on Tuesday night, a girl of three years of age succumbed to this fatal disease. Three other children of the family are very low, but it is hoped that they will recover.
      "On Tuesday the health officers quarantined the place and officer Howell was sent to post the premises. The public school, which had been suspended for one week, opened Monday and closed again Tuesday for two weeks longer. Although there are no new cases immediately in town, health officers think this the better course, and every precaution is being taken to prevent the spread of this disease that is so fatal to the little ones."
