- Article in May 25 1950 issue of West Union Herald: "HURT IN CAR WRECK. Harold 'Mickey' Doak, son of Mr & Mrs Arnold Doak, who is a student in an embalming school in Philadelphia, was injured Friday night in a car wreck at a stop light there. Mrs. Doak went by plane from Bridgeport Saturday afternoon and reported her son was not seriously hurt and would be able to leave Frankford hospital in a few days."
Article in Nov 30 1950 issue of West Union Herald: "Mickey Doak of Philadelphia, Pa., spent the holidays here with his mother, Mrs. Eva Doak."
Article in Mar 15 1951 issue of West Union Herald states that he received an embalmer's license.
Mickey was a long time Funeral Director, having worked in West Union, Weirton, Ireland and finally for Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, retiring as their manager. Before joining Leavitt, he was a carpet and furniture salesman at Dils Department Store.
