- Attended the University of Colorado one year and then transferred to the University of Wyoming, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 1949. He played football for Colorado and Wyoming, earning All-Conference Defensive End in 1948. He coached football and basketball in Riverton High School, WY for two years. He then entered the insurance industry where he remained for 42 years until his retirement in 1989. He was one of the early innovators in mass marketing group health benefits for the small employer through the Multiple Employers Trust (MET) concept. He designed and developed the first nationwide MET for small employers that was underwritten by the Hartford Insurance Group. He designed and established several MET's with top-ranked insurance companies in the nation. Later he was Regional Vice President in Kansas City of Insurance Administrators Company located in Irvine, CA. He maintained a regional office in Kansas City with six employees. [1]
