- Dan Wellington Gaston was a resident of Newkirk, Kay Co, Oklahoma, as of October 1922, when the original Daniel Gaston's (b. 1816) Harmony property was conveyed to Nancy Gaston Hart by her three siblings. [Doddridge Co Deed Book 79, p. 10] He was also a resident of Oklahoma at the time of Nancy Gaston's Hart's death in 1932, per her obituary. His name is spelled "Danial" on his headstone, but appears simply as "Dan" in his marriage record, on his WW I Draft Registration, and in the 1920 and 1930 Census.

Dan W. Gaston, 32, driller in oil field; wife Lottie L. Gaston, 34; boarder William Lieber, 33, driller in oil field, single. All born in Virginia (sic).
1930 Census, Kay Co, Oklahoma (City of Newkirk), enumerated on Apr 15 1930:
Dan W. Gaston, 41, driller in oil field; wife Lottie L. Gaston, 46 (?), seamstress; mother-in-law Catherine A. Lieber, 76, widowed. All born in West Virginia. [2, 10]
