"STILL IN SERIOUS CONDITION
Robert Harper, who fell from the railroad bridge east of Smithton a few days since which resulted in a broken back and other very serious injuries, is still lying in a most critical condition in a Parkersburg hospital, with little hopes of his recovery. Mr. Harper was working on the bridge at the time of the accident and was knocked off with a swinging crane and fell quite a distance to the bed of the stream below." [1, 2, 4]
