      "Davis - The Settlers of Salem WV," pp. 110 & 175, reports birth date as Aug 16 1869. But death record shows it as Aug 17 1872, 1900 Census has it as Aug 1872, and headstone shows it as 1872. The Davis book also incorrectly reports death date as July 1963, rather than the Jul 27 1953 shown in death record.
