- After hist 1947 high school graduation, he went to work at the Pennsboro Glass Company until he was drafted into the United States Army, where he courageously served our country during the Korean War. After he was discharged in 1953, he came home and met the love of his life Evelyn Grose, and they were married in 1954. In the same year, he returned to his former employer and eventually became a shareholder. In 1959, he was promoted to plant manager, prior to being announced as president and sales manager. He retired in 1996 after 49 years, when the company was sold.
