      Preston Leggett, 56, farmer, married 19 yrs (2nd marriage); wife Katharine, 50, married 19 yrs (1st marriage); adopted female Mabel Bundle [sic], 9. All born in West Virginia.
      NOTE: The adopted girl was Mabel Bunnell, natural daughter of Flornus Duncan Bunnell, who died in 1907, and Emily Rebecca "Emma" Cottrill, who remarried James McAtee in 1908. Mabel was probably more accurately a foster daughter. Four of Mabel's siblings were also placed in foster care following their father's death.
